LET’S SEE ALL THE STAGES DIAMONDS ARE PASSING
Each mine-extracted rough diamond is assigned a Birth Registration ID. Through digital scanning, a unique 3D model is created for every stone, along with key identifying data such as country of origin. This information is uploaded to Sarine’s secure cloud system, establishing a continuous authentication chain at every phase of the supply chain – from rough to rough, rough to polished, and polished to report. Stored securely in the cloud, this data forms the foundation for complete end-to-end traceability.
Sarine Galaxy® scans the rough diamond’s internal birthmarks, DiaExpert® maps the external surface, and Sarine Advisor® evaluates the polished diamond’s potential aesthetic and financial value. With near infinite rough diamond cutting possibilities, Sarine’s planning technology identifies the optimal approach for the perfect cut. Once the polished plan is set, Sarine’s algorithms gather various measurements and data crucial for the transition from rough to polished phases.
Periodic scanning with DiaMension® HD ensures adherence to the cutting plan. Post-polishing, the stone is measured and compared to previously recorded characteristics for validation and registration. During Polished Validation, the stone’s ID is confirmed by matching its properties – polish proportions, inclusions, and other unique traits – with those documented in the final plan phase. This process objectively verifies the linkage between the polished stone and its rough origin.
Once polishing is complete, the polished stone is matched against previously documented actual and expected features for validation. The ID is once again registered by the manufacturer.
Multiple direct measurements from the diamond’s rough origin to polished diamond creates rough-to-polished verifiable traceability. This culminates in a detailed digital or printed Diamond Journey™ traceability report. This report enables both retailers and consumers to trace a diamond’s origin at every phase in becoming a polished gem. It also enables the adjustment of ownership registration at every link of the supply chain, from the diamond’s journey from rough to polished.
